Why Did We Create Comparesies?
As pet owners ourselves we thought it was crazy how poor the information online was about pet products.
- Most sites are biased and care more about financial incentives then about helping pet owners
- Most content is created without love leading to reviews that are generic, difficult to comprehend and/or unhelpful
- Most authors are rarely experts or rarely have first-hand experience with the products that they are writing about
We'd all worked with comparison websites before and just thought that we could do better for Kiwi pet owners.
So we decided to create the website that we wish we had. An honest and helpful comparison site for pet owners with financial decisions to make.
Pet insurance was the obvious topic but vacuums for pet hair, desexing, you name it and we plan to cover it. We all still have day jobs so we'll see where Comparesies takes us but we hope you appreciate our honesty and the research we've done.

One Kiwi, one Frenchman and two Swedes...
Comparesies was born not long after we first developed a friendship in 2021. Together, we have more than ten years of experience in the tech and insurance industries. Enough time to realise that today it's hard for pet owners to find good financial advice online.
Mason

Mason was born and raised in New Zealand before moving to US and then Sweden. Despite looking so youthful, he worked as a senior website manager for 5 years before founding Comparesies. Mason's expertise in insurance is the most valuable asset for our users. Today he is the primary author/editor on Comparesies. Mason has an Staffy called Betty and a blind/deaf rescue bunny called Buu.
Louis

Louis has worked in the comparison industry for 5 years in Sweden after founding another company in France. His industry experience, and strong communication skills have been invaluable in building the bridge between our community and our content. Louis is our ideas man and is responsible for sourcing user and specialist opinions. Louis has a Ragdoll called Colette (which is also his grandma's name).

Elin is a passionate dog lover with roots in Sweden and a background in the service industry. With several years of experience working closely with customers, she has developed a deep understanding of what it takes to deliver outstanding service. Elin's love for animals, especially dogs, drives her to constantly seek the best information and products for pet owners. At Comparesies, she contributes her dedication and expertise by ensuring that our content reflects the care and quality our readers expect.

Thibault has engineering background from both France and Sweden. Comparesies is his second company after successfully founding a tech scaleup. His experience is vast within insurances and customer satisfaction. Thibault is responsible for maintaining the website and sharing his knowledge through page editing. Thibault doesn't have a pet at the moment but wants to get a tortoise when he has the space.

We don't! Not yet anyway. Comparesies is an independent comparison project. We review things for free, and without ads. But we hope to pay our team something in the future through affiliation (where some of the products and services we compare compensate us, like when you click on certain links on our site). This compensation does not, and never will, impact how, where and what we rate these products, no matter the financial incentives.

In order to keep the highest content quality, we don't accept the opinions of just anybody. Why? We don't want our readers to read fake or dishonest reviews (we've all seen how Google or App Store reviews can become suspiciously good or downright terrible while no people who had an average experience bother to write a review).
