About Kozoo

FAQ - Frequently asked questions about Kozoo

  • We'd love to welcome your furry friend! Your pet needs to be at least 2 months old and under 13 years old when you sign up, and they should be properly identified with a microchip or tattoo. This is just for your peace of mind and theirs! We focus on making sure your wonderful companion animals are covered, so pets used for commercial or professional purposes aren't eligible. Also, they shouldn't have any major health issues or symptoms before you sign up.

  • We know that when your pet needs care, you don't want to wait around for reimbursements! That's why at Kozoo, we make it super fast and easy. You simply upload your vet invoices and supporting documents directly from your personal online space, no tedious paper forms to fill out! Most reimbursements are processed within a lightning-fast 48 hoursdirectly to your bank account.

  • Being with Kozoo means more than just insurance! You get unlimited access to veterinary tele-consultations, 7 days a week, so you can get advice whenever you need it. We also love helping you save money while learning, so you can participate in quizzes related to pet health and well-being to potentially earn discounts on your monthly premiums, a win-win for everyone! Plus, we've teamed up with partners to bring you exclusive discounts on pet food, hygiene products, and accessories.

  • We understand that waiting periods can be a bit confusing, so here's the scoop: there's typically a short 14-day waiting period for accidents or injuries. For illnesses, it's usually 45 days. Some specific conditions and related surgeries (like hip dysplasia) might have a slightly longer period of around 90 days. But don't worry, we're very transparent about all the details when you choose your personalized plan!

Kozoo France: A smart pick

Kozoo France stands out in the pet insurance market for its flexible and modern approach, giving pet owners the power to tailor a policy that genuinely fits their pet's unique needs and their own budget. If you appreciate managing things digitally, Kozoo is right up your alley, emphasizing convenient online management that makes life easier. A big plus is their inclusion of preventive care options, showing they're invested in keeping your pet healthy proactively. What's truly appealing is their willingness to extend coverage to a broader range of companion animals, it's not just for dogs and cats, which is fantastic news for owners of more unique pets.

On the positive side, Kozoo doesn't hit you with a fixed deductible, which can be a relief when unexpected vet bills arise. They also promise lifetime coverage, ensuring your beloved pet remains protected no matter their age. Their comprehensive accident and illness coverage means you're well-prepared for unforeseen incidents, and the inclusion of telemedicine/AI vet access offers a modern, convenient way to get health advice. You also have a good range of options for reimbursement rates (from 50% to 100%) and annual reimbursement ceilings (from 1,000€ to 3,000€), plus flexible deductibles (0€, 30€, or 50€). Complementary options like prevention, death benefit, and third-party liability add another layer of customization.

However, if you're someone who prefers a more traditional, face-to-face approach to customer service, Kozoo's digital-first support (primarily via chat and app) might feel a bit impersonal. It's also important to note the variable copay(typically 20%) on each claim, meaning you'll always pay a small percentage of the vet bill. And, like most insurance providers, policies usually involve waiting periods before full coverage kicks in, so it's always wise to check those details upfront.

In summary, Kozoo is an adaptable and contemporary choice in French pet insurance, particularly appealing if you value online convenience, comprehensive coverage tailored to your needs, and a provider that understands the diverse world of companion animals.

Super pet insurance! My 2-year-old dog has been insured since she came home. Reimbursements are quick, the team is attentive and always available. They even check in on the little ones! 😍 Truly delighted!!! Excellent value for money considering the service offered.

Our dog underwent surgery at the end of May 2025, under general anesthesia, to extract 3 teeth. This intervention followed an annual preventative visit and vaccine booster. At the same time, during this procedure, a descaling (tartar removal) of the other teeth was performed. The tooth extraction was considered preventative??!! and not surgical. Consequently, the billing for these procedures was not covered (prevention for the descaling, and surgery for extraction). I remain perplexed by the response I received from the mutual insurance company. If one day our dog has any kind of tumor and is also operated on under general anesthesia, what would be the classification of that intervention? Anyway...
